Quartz
What is Quartz?
Quartz stone is a composite material made of crushed stone bound together by an adhesive, (most commonly polymer resin, with some newer versions using cement mix).
The quartz countertop (Sparkle) is made from crushed raw grits of quartz which then bound together with the use of resins. Mostly it’s 93% quartz stone particles mixed with 7% of the resin. There are different types of resins employed by different quartz manufacturers. The two commonest types are epoxy and polyester.
Man-made quartz has become an extremely popular interior stone option among designers, contractors, and more in recent years. Specifically, quartz refers to a man-made stone option that is typically composed of about 90-97% natural quartz that is mixed with a resin and pigment to create a unique look. There are many different brands of man-made quartz on the market, each offering different colors and styles to help you achieve your ideal look.
